Venus transit

8th June 2004 heralded a splendid clear (a little high haze) and hot day for observing the Venus transit of the Sun. I was invited by BBC television to accompany them at the Royal Greenwich observatory for a live broadcast. They borrowed my TMB80 F6 and attached their video camera for the live broadcast. I used my TMB115 and Canon D10 for white light imaging and an ST10XME on a Coronado 90mm Maxscope for Ha viewing. Seeing conditions appeared less good than I have achieved from home and may have been due to observing on concrete and in the middle of London. This particularly affected Ha views.

Mercury Solar transit 7th May 2003

Although the Sun could be seen, there was a lot of high cirrhus cloud leading to a "mushy" appearance of the Sun. Nonetheless, I did manage to get some CCD images and a movie. This was through a Coronado 90mm filter on a SKY90 and ST10XME
